Exciting opportunity for a Certified Surgical Technologist to join Mission Community Hospital in Panorama City, CA. Assist in life-saving surgeries and contribute to a dynamic team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
- At least one year of experience in hospital operating rooms
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the operating room
- Pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons during surgery
- Monitor supplies and equipment count during surgery
- Assist in dressing changes to prevent wound complications
- Clean and sterilize instruments according to hospital protocols
- Ensure all medications and implants are handled appropriately
- Assist in the recording of medical documentation related to the operative procedure
- Participate in a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education courses each year
