Qualifications
- Completion of a state-approved Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant training program
- Current and valid certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA)
- Minimum of one year of experience working in the field of substance abuse treatment preferred
- Knowledge of addiction counseling principles, techniques, and modalities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors in delivering substance abuse treatment services
- Assist with client intake process including screenings, assessments, and interviews
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and educational workshops
- Monitor client progress and document responses to interventions
- Assist with case management tasks and crisis intervention and de-escalation support
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and treatment plans
